It's important that you find the right structure and location for your event, but it is also imperative that what's on the inside really counts.

The Memorable Premiere of the Premium Marquee

The Memorable Premiere of the Premium Marquee

Posted By: Charlotte

We were so excited to join forces with Alastair Currie Events as the marquee supplier for their client's commemoration balll. It was such a grand event and one we were flattered to be a part of.

The Big Marquee Challenge

Only a year and a half since CMC had begun and there was no stopping us. This year we broadened our horizons and took the plunge in purchasing some brand new Roder HTS 15m, 20m and 25m Premium structures. We didn't want to be restricted by size, and theses top of the range marquees mean we can cater to any large occasion that comes our way.

At CMC Marquees we have never built a Premium marquee before. This was certainly going to be a challenge, but a challenge we love. If Cinderella could go to the ball, so could CMC.

New Warehouse

It was no coincidence we started moving into a much larger warehouse around the time of the ball. We knew we were going to be squeezed out of our warehouse in Nailsea once all the new kit arrived. So we packed up, and moved down the road to our new home in Brockley.

Rather fittingly, we have officially named our new residence ‘Event House’, and we are based here alongside our sister companies, Alastair Currie Events and The Waiting Game.

But, it gets even more exciting than that.

On our roof and along the field next to the warehouse is a vast expanse of solar panels. This means we are officially carbon NEGATIVE – we are producing more energy than we are actually consuming. How cool is that?!

Build Time

Anyway, back to the ball. Stuart and the boys had never tackled erecting a premium marquee before, and they didn’t even start with the 15m. In CMC style, they went straight for the biggest one, and built a 25m x 50m. It took 4 days with crew ranging from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 11 per day.

The days were long and lessons were learnt, but once it was all completed it looked phenomenal.

The Stylish Ball

Green astro led its way to a 5m Chinese hat entrance. With two double glazed doors spanning one bay, the entrance was certainly grand. Chinese hat entrance with double glazed doors

The interior was dressed with ivory pleated linings, hired out from the wonderful Custom Covers. Window walls ran all along the front allowing guests to look out along the grass and up at the majestic building of the grand school. With a navy blue carpet laid straight on top of the grass, it made for an elegant floor.

The event began with a commemoration ceremony, and then was transformed into a ball. Alastair Currie Events did an incredible job of rearranging the interior to make it look as though it were two completely different event spaces. Magic!

Many More Big Marquees to Come

After the event took place and the marquee came down we didn’t stop there. Later on in the year we built a 20m x 30m marquee for another school's end of year event.  Watch this space – as there are certainly many more to come!

Big thanks to Alastair Currie Events!
